Those of us fortunate enough to experience the unconditional devotion of a pet know that the animals who share our homes and our lives are, in essence, family. This is why we suggest regular visits to our Dutchess County veterinarian office.
Our Veterinary Services in Dutchess County
Because our goal is to keep your pet healthy and happy, we offer a comprehensive variety of services. These include:
New Pet Visits
When you bring your new friend home for the first time, we recommend a visit to our office for a quick wellness check. All of our wellness checks include procedures such as:
A new pet wellness check also includes suggestions for making your pet comfortable in new surroundings, training tips, nutrition guidance, and a plan for avoiding fleas, ticks, and heartworms.
If you adopted your new pet from a local animal shelter, please bring your paperwork with you when you visit.
Starter Visits for Puppies and Kittens
This visit is similar to our new pet visit, as we address all of the same points. Additionally, puppies and kittens must begin their vaccination schedules. This is essential, as the longer vaccinations are delayed, the greater the risk to your puppy or kitten.
Spaying and Neutering Services
Our facility strongly advocates for the spaying and neutering of all pets. This is a necessary step that helps curb the population of domestic animals. Both procedures are available to animals over eight weeks of age and weighing more than two pounds.
Spaying female animals typically takes less than an hour, while neutering males is a procedure lasting less than half an hour. While all surgical procedures carry some risk, we take every possible precaution to ensure your pet has a successful and uneventful surgery. Post-operatively, the greatest risk is inflammation or infection of the incision site. To guard against this, we will provide you with wound care instructions.
Diagnostics
Our office has cutting-edge diagnostic tools to help our veterinarians gather all the information necessary to treat your pet. Because all equipment is in-house, you will not need to visit another facility or wait days for test results.
Other Procedures and Treatments
Our compassionate veterinarians understand all aspects of care, and our office is equipped to handle veterinary emergencies. Treatments we provide include:
Dog Boarding Services
Planning a guilt-free vacation? Bring your furry friends to stay with us. Your dogs will be fed the same food on the same schedule as at home, exercised two to three times per day, and treated as our honored guests—because they are.
Emergency Care
We know that illness and accidents can happen at any time. To help our patients whenever a problem arises, call our office. For evening and after hours and weekends call the animal emergency clinic in Kingston, VCA in Newburg, or Guardian in Brewster.
