Surgical Services
We perform a wide variety of surgeries on site, such as spays and neuters, dentistry and tooth extractions, growth removal, entropion repair, ACL repair, amputations, wound and laceration repair, abscess treatment, biopsies, hernias, anal gland procedures, fracture repair, and more.
What you would expect. Safe. Precise. Timely. ECG-monitored, with constant evaluation of the depth of anesthesia. Routine surgical procedures include spay (ovariohysterectomy) and neuter (castration), as well as knee surgery, tumor removal, and abscess treatment. While considered routine, your operation is anything but routine to your pet—our most important patient. Usually, pets are admitted at 8:30 a.m. and on their way home by 4:00 p.m., with medication for soreness.
Sutures (stitches) are often absorbable, so there is no need to return for removal. A day or so of recovery at home is usually all that’s needed. Dr. Weiss is usually only a phone call away, day or night.
Emergency Services
You have a choice of emergency services depending on where you live. The animal emergency clinic of the Hudson Valley is located in Kingston, VCA is located in Newburg, and Guardian is located in Brewster. We were involved in the establishment of the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Hudson Valley. They all provide our patients with night, weekend, and holiday coverage by a staff of dedicated professionals. Occasionally, patients require overnight observation at that facility, followed by transfer back the next morning or discharge directly from there.
